What we do: We publish Credit Score & Report Education for Beginners—plain-English, informational content. We do not provide financial, legal, or tax advice and we do not broker or issue credit products.

This Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices. It is general information, not legal advice.

1) Information we collect

A. Information you provide

  • Contact details and messages (e.g., via contact form or email).
  • Newsletter sign-ups (name, email).
  • Optional survey responses or resource requests.

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device/usage data: IP address, browser/OS, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location (city/country).
  • Collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

C. From third parties

  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Advertising/monetization partners (e.g., Google AdSense) for ad delivery/measurement and fraud prevention.
  • Email/form processors that route your messages to us.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.

2) How we use information

  • Operate and improve the site, content, and user experience.
  • Respond to inquiries and support requests.
  • Send newsletters/updates you opt into (unsubscribe any time).
  • Analyze aggregate traffic and performance (analytics).
  • Serve and measure ads and help prevent fraud/abuse (advertising).
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms.

Legal bases (EEA/UK): consent, contract (e.g., delivering requested resources), legitimate interests (security, analytics, non-intrusive marketing), and legal obligation.

3) Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and local storage to run the site, remember preferences, analyze usage, and support advertising.

Cookie categories

  • Essential: security, load balancing, consent records.
  • Preferences: remember settings (e.g., theme).
  • Analytics: understand site usage to improve content.
  • Advertising: ad delivery/measurement, fraud prevention, and—where lawful and with consent—personalization.

Manage cookies via our Cookie Settings link (footer) and your browser controls.

4) Advertising & affiliate links

We may display ads (e.g., Google AdSense) and/or use clearly disclosed affiliate links to educational resources or tools.

  • Ad partners may use cookies/device identifiers to deliver and measure ads and detect abuse; personalized ads are shown only where lawful and with consent (e.g., EEA/UK).
  • Affiliate links never change the price you pay; we may earn a commission if you purchase through a link.

5) Analytics

We may use Google Analytics (or similar) to produce aggregate statistics. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

6) Email & forms

If you contact us or subscribe:

  • We process your message to reply and keep reasonable records.
  • Email and form services act as data processors for us.
We do not sell your email address.

7) How we share information

We share data only as needed to run the site and comply with law:

  • Service providers/processors: hosting/CDN, analytics, email delivery, form processing, security, ad partners.
  • Legal/disclosure: to comply with lawful requests or protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transfer: if we undergo a merger or acquisition, information may transfer under the same privacy commitments.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some US state laws may classify certain analytics/ads uses as a “sale” or “share” for cross-context behavioral advertising—see Your rights below.

8) International data transfers

We may process data on servers outside your state or country (e.g., US/EU). When we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by our providers.

9) Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above:

  • Contact emails: typically 24 months.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Analytics/ads cookies: per provider defaults or until you clear cookies/withdraw consent.
  • Legal/business records: as required by law.

10) Your choices & rights

Controls

  • Cookie/Consent: Use Cookie Settings in our footer to review/change preferences.
  • Browser controls: Block/delete cookies.
  • Email: Unsubscribe via any newsletter.
  • Ads: Use the AdChoices links above.
  • Do Not Track: We currently don’t respond to DNT signals due to non-uniform standards.

EEA/UK (GDPR) rights
Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing (including direct marketing or processing based on legitimate interests). Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
